Sun’s Out – (Stewardship) Fun’s Out!

Great Communications Give YOU Control of Your Brand!

Do you ever wonder why brands like McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, and Nike still spend billions each year on advertising and public relations? Everybody knows their products and what they do well. Yet they still make that investment. Successful companies understand that controlling the message helps set them apart, and lets them set the tone for what their brand stands for. Non-profits are no different! Your organization’s brand and reputation are too important to leave to chance. And even though you may not have billions (or millions, or even tens of thousands) to spend on ads and flashy marking, there are plenty of cost-effective ways to get your organization to stand out in a crowded field.

The Killoe Group are experts in marketing, messaging, PR, and communications strategies that get results. We’ve helped organizations from small animal shelters to large higher education institutions plan out and deliver messaging that works: Clear, concise, and staking your claim. We are expert storytellers who connect with the why of your organization, and help others tap into the best of your work and mission. Ready to talk? We’d love to connect!

Congratulations to Killoe Group Principal Paul McAvoy, Marketing and Communication Lead, for being recognized with two first-place awards for his writing from the 2023 Catholic Media Association. Paul was honored with a first place for “Best Feature Article – Diocesan Magazine” for a story detailing the opioid epidemic and the impact it has on grandparents raising their grandchildren.

Sun’s Out – (Stewardship) Fun’s Out!

Summer is here, and while it can be tough to plan big events because of everyone’s conflicting vacation schedules, it’s a GREAT time to visit one on one with your best donors! People’s schedules are generally more open for a lunch, a coffee, or a chance to say thank you. Take advantage of the good weather and people’s good moods to sit in an outdoor café and find out more about your best donors.

Remember, it’s not all about asking for the gift – find out why they give, ask about the difference the organization made to them, ask them what they enjoy about giving back, and ask them what they would want people to know about the organization. Then, of course, say thank you for all that they do to support the mission! Update the donors on what’s going on in the agency, what you’ve got on the horizon, some recent successes, and how their giving makes a difference. The more specific you can be, the better! And be sure to have a ready answer if they ask “What can I do to get more involved?” A little bit of stewardship goes a long way to making your top donors feel like a valued partner in your mission.

CLIENT FEATURE - Berkshire Humane Society

Congratulations to Killoe Group client, Berkshire Humane Society for the successful launching of their wellness clinic!

The Killoe Group helped Berkshire Humane Society with their current strategic action plan, which identified the need for low-cost veterinary services in their area. This spring, the opportunity came up to pilot a veterinary clinic and the organization jumped at the chance!

We are so proud to partner with Berkshire Humane Society to move the organization forward in a meaningful way – and help expand wellness appointments to an underserved population.
